Bentall Tower IV Memorial
January 7

On January 7, 1981 four carpenters were killed while constructing Bentall Four tower. Their names were: Donald Wayne Davis, Yrjo Mitrunen, Guenter Otto Couvreux and Brian John Stevenson. They were preparing a platform known as a ‘fly form’ for the last concrete pour on the roof when it broke free and they fell 36 floors to their death. Each year, onJanuary 7, (this year on January 9 due to the weekend) memorials are held at Discovery Park directly across the street from the plaza of the Bentall IV Tower.
